NCBTMB Provider #388439-00 NCTMB 6 Hours
|
| The Money Storke is the delicious stroke that our clients remember us by; the stroke that makes a massage feel good and separates the average massage from the remarkable one. Michael will share his acquired skills and knowledge about taking the body through different ranges of motion, while integrating different modality strokes to improve flexibility, increase the range of motion, as well as provide other therapeutic results and overall relaxation. Our primary goal is to couple the dynamocs of range of motion with massage strokes to create a 'delicious' feel good massage that also has therapeutic relevance. This is a great workshop that teaches skills that can immediately be implemented into any massage practice. |

| The Complete Neck Series with Michael Alicia
NCBTMB Provider #388439-00 NCTMB 16 Hours
|
| The Complete Neck Series was born out of an ever present need to help clients deal with their neck problems. A majority of clients arrive complaining of neck issues, whether due to postural imbalances, work related issues or simply stress and tension. This series incorporates the work of renouned practitioners and teachers like Tom Myers (Anatomy Trains), Robert King (Myofascial Release), Aaron Mattis, (Active Isometric Stretching), Kikuko Miyazaki (Sotai), Janet Travell (Trigger Point Release) and my own work, Michael Alicia, with passive stretching techniques (The Stretching Process) to address neck issues.
The workshop incorporates a 3-step approach to deal with neck issues to not only alleviate stress, tension and pain but also identify chronic problems. We begin by looking at the architecture of the body, the hard skeleton and muscle attachments and then the soft skeleton, the myofascia, and exploring its properties as both structural and flexible. We will then identify muscular and postural imbalances (like Head Forward and Upper Cross) and then work to release fascial tightness, restore muscular balance and then re-educate the muscles (and the client) to restore stress-free muscular function with Active and Passive Stretching exercises. |
